Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Replica Now Offered with Cerachrom Bezel

Rolex’s iconic, racing-inspired chronograph watch, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, is now available in an all-new version with a bezel made of cerachrom, the Swiss brand’s proprietary high-tech material.

The new Rolex Daytona with cerachrom bezel, unveiled to an eager public this week at Baselworld 2016, is the latest in the long and distinguished lineage of Daytona watches, which began back in 1963 with the first Replica Watches Cosmograph and evolved over the years into the watch that now bears the name of the world-famous Daytona Racetrack.For this latest version of the Daytona, Rolex has replaced the engraved metal bezel of previous versions with a Cerachrom bezel in black ceramic bezel insert, a visual nod to the 1965 version of the Daytona, whose black insert was made of Plexiglas. Cerachrom was previously used in the special, platinum-cased anniversary edition of the Rolex Daytona, launched in 2013.Cerachrom, developed and patented by Rolex Replica UK, is a durable, virtually scratchproof material that keeps its original color despite the effects of UV rays and is exceptionally resistant to corrosion-resistant. The numerals on the bezel’s tachymeter scale — a hallmark of auto racing chronographs in general and of the Daytona in particular — are applied via a special process developed by Rolex. The graduations are first molded in the ceramic before it is fired at 1,500° C, then coated with a thin layer of platinum via PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition). The other new features added to the 2016 version of the Rolex Daytona are the black rings around the chronograph subdials, adding another level of interest to the classical, tricompax dial. The stainless steel case offers contemporary dimensions, with a diameter of 40 mm.
Like other modern versions of the Cheap Rolex Replica, this one is outfitted with Rolex’s manufacture Caliber 4130, a self-winding column-wheel chronograph movement that is also a COSC-certified chronometer. Rare Vintage Rolex Replica Watches of Steel Chronographs

Perhaps the most important “Paul Newman” Daytonas ever offered at auction, this steel chronograph dating to 1969 — with a tachymeter bezel, 1/5-second-divisions track printed in red, and “tropical” Paul Newman dial layout (characterized by, among other elements, the combination of hashmarks with tiny squares in the chrono subdials— is one of only two such examples of this reference known to be in existence. The Italian nickname “Oyster Sotto” (“Oyster Underneath”) refers to the rare configuration of the word “Oyster” placed under the word “Cosmograph” at the 12 o’clock position. This is among the very first Rolex Daytona Replica watches with Paul Newman dials to be placed in an Oyster case, with screw-down pushers offering greater water resistance over the previous models’ “pump” pushers. The watch has a 37.5-mm diameter case and a stainless steel Oyster bracelet with deployant clasp, and contains a manual-wind Valjoux 727 movement.

Another highly collectible example of the same reference, also circa 1969, this watch features a Paul Newman dial in the so-called “Panda” style (off-white dial with black chronograph subdials and outer chapter ring) and like the Rolex Replica UK Oyster Sotto above, offers an intriguing example of aged color on the dial: the 1/5-seconds scale on the outer edge has evolved into an exceptionally uniform, and unique, shade of caramel orange.

This Daytona from 1966 — again, one of only a handful known to exist with this type of dial — got its nickname from the blue-printed pulsometer scale along the dial’s outer edge. This numbered scale — which necessitated a redesign of the existing Replica Watches Daytona dial to accommodate it — was intended for use by medical professionals, who would use it in conjunction with the chronograph to determine the exact number per minute of a patient’s heartbeats. Vintage Eye for the Modern Guy: Rolex GMT-Master II Replica

Over the past 100 years or so, Rolex has produced more than a few “dynasty” series of watches — from the Datejust to the Day-Date, to the Explorer, Daytona, and Speedking, to the piece we will be focusing on today: the GMT-Master II. The GMT-Master series, first launched in 1954 with the Reference 6542 model, was aimed at pilots and travelers looking to keep track of the time over various time zones. This watch, with its familiar oyster case, had a 24-hour bidirectional Bakelite bezel, a lack of crown guards, and a prone-to-patina dial depending on the owner’s level of use. Over the next few years and references, Rolex Replica UK introduced a less fragile metal bezel, crown guards for more protection, and various improvements on the original movement.The modern reference, the 116710, is an interesting piece with both contemporary and vintage design elements. On one hand, there are many similarities between the modern GMT-Master II and more historical references, but on the other, there are also many differences. Today, the 24-hour bezel, GMT hand, and dial features have remained practically the same, outside of a few color options and material improvements. Coversely, however, the lugs are much shorter, the case is much thicker, and some color options previously available on the steel versions (such as the famous red-and-blue “Pepsi” bezel, as seen below) are now available only on the models made of more precious metals, such as white gold. Overall, the modern Cheap Rolex Replica is a very different piece as compared to the original GMT-Masters of the 1950s and ‘60s. It is today a much more masculine and bold watch, more likely to be found sitting thick upon the wrist of a boardroom executive than that of a pilot — despite its very interesting heritage in the world of aviation and its enduring fame among lovers of pilots’ watches.
I have mentioned in the past the strong craving of many vintage-watch enthusiasts for more historically faithful re-editions by Best Fake Rolex. But the brand, thus far, has focused much more on appealing to modern tastes than by humoring those seeking the designs of years past. That said, the current GMT-Master II reference has been in production for almost 10 years, so fans of the series are likely to see an update to the collection in the not-too-distant future. And, if the newest Daytona released at this year’s Baselworld was any indication, it might just include a historical nod, whether in the form of a bezel, a color option, or perhaps even more.
