Patek Philippe Nautilus Reference 3700/1A

After Gérald Genta created the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, he more or less replicated its design for Patek Philippe and IWC. This Patek Philippe Nautilus Reference 3700/1A was the equivalent of Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Reference 5402ST. The Nautilus Reference 3700/1A used the same movement as the Royal Oak, until the late 1970s, when Cheap Patek Philippe Replica exchanged it for an in-house movement. Patek Philippe Chronograph Reference 1579

I am a sucker for chronographs, and this 1940s Patek Philippe Reference 1579 is a beautiful example that represents that specific era of chronograph Patek Philippe Replica. Beautiful, elegant shaped lugs and a wonderful dial with two registers. The chronograph seconds hand is blued, while the rest of the hands are gold, just like the case, crown and pushers.

Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Reference 3940

Perhaps I’m stretching the definition of “vintage” a bit with this one, but I can’t complete my own Top 5 vintage Cheap Patek Philippe Replica list without mentioning the discontinued Reference 3940 perpetual calendar watch. It was introduced in 1985, which is old enough for me to consider it vintage. Succeeded by the Reference 5140 in 2006, the 3940 is a very elegant 36-mm timepiece that has — at least in my eyes — nicer proportions than its successor.

Team Bentley made its big comeback to motorsports last year, scoring major wins at Silverstone and Le Castellet with Bentley’s new high-performance racing machine, the Bentley Continental G3. The new Breitling for Bentley GT3 Chronograph — the latest product collaboration between the Swiss watch manufacture and the British luxury automaker — pays tribute to this exceptional vehicle.

The Breitling for Bentley GT3, a limited edition of 500 pieces worldwide, continues the Cheap Breitling Replica for Bentley tradition started in 2003, when Breitling, main sponsor to Team Bentley, unveiled the original Bentley Le Mans chronograph watch in celebration of the team sweeping the first two places in that year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Hands-On With the Omega Speedmaster “Lunar Dust” Replica

Monochromatic watches have been one of the major trends in the watchmaking industry in recent years, especially with the use of black-DLC coated cases, with sometimes questionable results. Although we’re not the biggest fans of all-black watches, we have to admit that Omega’s use of the look on the Cheap Omega Speedmaster  Replica was interesting. First of all, the color scheme works great on the Dark Side of the Moon, and the concept of a ceramic watch has been pushed to the extreme: the case, crown, pushers, caseback, buckle and even the dial are made of that same material. And this interpretation, a “declination of grey,” is a nice alternative for those who want a brighter color.

The Omega Speedmaster Lunar Dust shares its 44.25-mm case and technical specifications with the Omega Replica Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon. The case is made from a solid block of white ceramic that is treated with a plasma technology. We’re not talking about a surface coating here, but a deep treatment that tints the entire ceramic: if you cut the case in half, you’ll see that the gray tone goes all the way through. What that means is no risk of fading colors or of seeing traces of white after the case has been scratched (something that will probably never happen anyway, because ceramic is nearly scratch-proof). On the photo below, you can see the different steps of manufacturing.The color obtained through the process is a metallic gray, darker than stainless steel or titanium, reminding us of the color of a moon stone. The difference between the entirely black “Dark Side of the Moon” and the “Lunar Dust” is that the dial on the latter is made of a solid piece of platinum that is finely textured and is a bit iridescent. The bezel, crown, pushers, caseback and pin buckle on both models are made of ceramics. The hands and indices, with the classical Cheap Omega Replica design, are black colored and filed with Super-LumiNova. Even the engraved tachymeter on the bezel is filled with Super-LumiNova.

On the wrist however, it wears smaller than expected, probably due to the short lugs. It also feels very light, obviously owing to the use of ceramics. The gray case, dial and strap create a very monochromatic — and very original — color scheme. The Lunar Dust makes a great alternative to the all-black Dark Side of the Moon; which do you prefer?
